Princess Leonor (17) of Spain and her younger sister Sofía (16) are following in the footsteps of their mother, Queen Letizia of Spain (50). In a solo performance in the Spanish region of Galicia, the two infantesses showed that they are well on their way to emulating their mother and joining the ranks of the best-dressed royals.
The two Spanish princesses took part in a workshop led by the well-known Spanish chef Ferran Adrià (61) on the topics of creativity, innovation and teamwork in Gironda without their parents. Leonor and Sofía chose outfits in bright colors to take part in the workshop.
Heir to the throne Leonor presented herself in a long-sleeved, midi-length orange dress and a cream-colored handbag as a worthy successor to her father, King Felipe of Spain (55). Sofía, who is second in line to the throne, wore a crimson combo of calf-length pants and a high-necked, sleeveless top. Both sisters also presented summery espadrilles, loose hair and minimalist, reserved make-up. The Spanish royal family shared further impressions of the workshop on Twitter, in which the princesses were led through a museum in a group of other participants.
Apart from appearing together with her sister and her parents, Leonor is currently in the process of familiarizing herself with her role as heir to the throne: she celebrated her international Abitur at the Welsh elite boarding school Atlantic College in May. As is tradition, starting in August she will do a three-year training course at the Military Academy in Zaragoza – one year each in the army, navy and air force. Background: As Queen, she will also be Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. Father Felipe also studied at the military academy, then studied in Madrid and the USA.
