The times when fans could watch top football for less than ten euros a month at Dazn seem to be over once and for all. The streaming provider has presented its new price and offer structure – and it is particularly difficult for new customers: up to 44.99 euros per month may be due.
The proud price applies to all new subscribers after the end of their annual subscription at a price of 29.99 euros per month, if they then switch to a monthly notice period. According to the company, if you extend the subscription for another year, the reduced price would remain. “Nothing will change in price for existing customers,” said a Dazn spokesman for the DPA news agency.
The so-called “Dazn unlimited” offer includes, among other things, live broadcasts of games in the Bundesliga and the Champions League. It also includes the “Dazn Super Sports” (including NFL, NBA, Serie A, Uefa Nations League) and “Dazn World” (including Women’s Champions League and Bundesliga) packages. From now on, these will cost 19.99 euros (“Dazn Super Sports”) or 6.99 euros (“Dazn World”) per month in an annual subscription, or five or three euros more if you switch to a monthly notice period.
“Based on feedback from our customers, we have created a very comprehensive package structure for new customers with offers that differ in terms of content, duration and flexibility,” the spokesman continues, without naming the renewed price increase for many customers, which should lead the offer into the profit zone. Despite all the rhetorical efforts of those responsible, a look at the social networks shows that the company has once again drawn the ire of sports fans.
