Hollywood star Dwayne Johnson (50) says he does not want to run for US President for the time being. “That’s off the table,” the actor and former wrestler said in an interview with CBS Sunday Morning. “I love our country and everyone in it. And I love being a father too,” he said.

During the “critical time” in his daughters’ lives, the most important thing for him was to be there for them. He still remembers being busy and traveling a lot when his eldest daughter was growing up. “And that’s what the presidency would do,” he continued. “So my top priority is my daughters.”

Johnson shared the interview excerpt on his Instagram account on Sunday (local time). “The most influential politicians” from both major parties asked him whether he wanted to run in the elections in two years, he wrote. “I’m humbled, grateful and inspired to even be having these conversations, because I’m not a politician and I’ve never aspired to be one.” But he was “patriot through and through”.

Johnson, nicknamed “The Rock” during his wrestling career, has a 21-year-old daughter from his first marriage to film producer Dany Garcia. The marriage was divorced in 2008. In 2019, Johnson married singer Lauren Hashian. The couple have two daughters aged six and four.
