Health and wellness AI platform Healthify, also known as HealthifyMe, has recently secured $45 million in funding for its US expansion. The company successfully raised $20 million in fresh capital, with leading investors including Khosla Ventures, Leapfrog Investments, Claypond Capital, and Indian healthcare billionaire Ranjan Pai’s family investment office.
Healthify, with its tagline “health made easy with AI,” offers an app that provides personalized AI coaching for meal tracking, nutritional advice, diet, and workout suggestions to help users achieve their health and wellness goals. Founded in 2012, the Bangalore-based company has been operating in India for over a decade and is now gearing up for expansion in the United States. In addition to its headquarters in India, Healthify also has offices in Malaysia and Singapore.
Using a combination of AI software, wearable devices, and fitness trainers, Healthify has served over 40 million users across 300 cities in India. The new funding will support the company’s expansion into the US market and enhance its AI-driven nutrition and fitness coaching capabilities, according to a press release.
Co-founded by University of Pennsylvania alum Tushar Vashist and MIT graduate Mathew Cherian, Healthify is set to launch its AI-first #beta app in the US next month. Vashist expressed his excitement for the upcoming launch in a LinkedIn post, with plans to introduce the latest version of the app in India by the end of the year.
Healthify is tailoring its application to meet the needs of different markets, including the US, by focusing on understanding common food items, fitness habits, and local dialects to provide culturally relevant health guidance to users. The company’s Indian vertical has achieved operational profitability and aims to be EBITDA-positive by the end of the fiscal year.
In addition to its customer-centric approach, Healthify is also concentrating on B2B operations, such as corporate wellness partnerships and collaborations with diagnostics, insurance, and pharmaceutical companies to promote sustainable health outcomes on a larger scale.
With this new funding and expansion plans, Healthify is poised to make a significant impact in the health and wellness industry, both in India and the United States.
