Pop singer Vanessa Mai made a short appearance on the ProSieben show “The Masked Singer”. The 31-year-old slipped out of the “The Mystery” mask, which a new star wears in each episode and thus makes a one-off appearance. Mai’s performance was noticeably different from her predecessors in the role – she moved extremely elegantly. “No one has ever danced as beautifully in the mystery costume as you,” said presenter Matthias Opdenhövel (53) appreciatively. Mai sang the casual country song “Texas Hold ‘Em” by US singer Beyoncé (42).
However, the advice team in the studio had figured out Mai. Moderator Palina Rojinski (39) typed the correct name – after some pondering, the clues put her on the right track. Among other things, a crossed-out cloud could be seen – a reference to the hit band Wolkenfrei, with whom Mai had once had her breakthrough.
In the next episode of “The Masked Singer” another celebrity is said to be under the “mystery” costume. The mask is an innovation in the current season of the format. Until now, the costumes had always been assigned to a celebrity. If a mask received too few votes, it was thrown out of the competition. But the “Mysterium” sings outside of the regular competition.
