Concern about the “Queen of Pop”: As her manager Guy Oseary (50) reports on Instagram, Madonna (64) was hospitalized a few days ago due to an infection and spent several days in intensive care. The legendary singer is said to be doing a little better now.

“On Saturday, June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection that has resulted in a stay in intensive care for several days,” writes Oseary. “Her health is improving, but she is still receiving medical treatment. A full recovery is expected,” it said.

It is currently unclear whether Madonna is still in intensive care. As reported by the British “Daily Mail” and “Billboard”, citing anonymous sources, she is said to have left them in the meantime.

Oseary confirms that Madonna has had to postpone the start of her planned The Celebration Tour, which was due to begin July 15 in Vancouver, Canada. They want to share new details with fans as soon as they know more – including the new start date for the tour and dates for further postponed performances.

It is currently unknown how the illness could affect later dates of the tour. Shows in Europe are currently listed on Madonna’s homepage from mid-October. In Cologne and Berlin, among other places, she is supposed to appear in November.
