Harry Styles (28) has served his fans a new, artistically particularly ambitious video. In the song “Music For a Sushi Restaurant,” Styles is brought to a sushi restaurant as a feral merman with an abdomen made of tentacles. The lives and bodies of sea creatures are not treated gently there.
But the octopus Harry can save himself by putting his voice to the test and bringing many visitors to the restaurant as a singing octopus-human sensation. Suddenly he is the star of the store, who is waited on from front to back and apparently can afford everything. Until his voice fails…
The fans are enthusiastic about the grotesque images in the comments below the video on YouTube. Most see the video as a metaphor for Styles’ own career in show business. As one user put it, “…a metaphor that shows how Harry is a showpiece for the industry and if he makes the slightest mistake his career will practically collapse.”
The song is featured on Harry Styles’ 2022 album Harry’s House. The previous single “As It Was” has become the summer song of the year thanks to numerous uses in a number of social media clips. The song stayed on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart for 15 weeks, making Styles a record for his country as a British artist.
