Hollywood star Matthew McConaughey (54) and his wife Camila (41) remain true to their “no pants” policy. Since the Brazilian model and the American star launched a tequila in October, they have been promoting it without pants. The commercials are a nod to the spirit’s brand name Pantalones (Spanish: pants). Your most recent activity without pants? Croquet.
In a photo that the couple also shows on their two Instagram accounts, they can be seen looking seriously into the camera in a sunny backyard on a meadow during a croquet break. Their lower halves are at odds with their chic outfits – a sweater vest for Camila and a three-piece suit on top for Matthew. Both are pantsless below the belt. The photo is pixelated in interesting places.
The power duo proves the campaign’s core message of not taking life too seriously time and again. In a clip from early May, Matthew and Camila played a game of pickleball sans pants in honor of the brand. Once again, their lower halves were pixelated, such as when they bent over to hit balls over the net.
“We’re proud of our tequila, not our pants,” Matthew and Camila said in a statement quoted by People magazine. “With the explosion in popularity of tequila, a certain amount of snobbery has crept into the category. People now talk about tequila like they talk about wine. While we’re all for tequila being a passion, we wanted it “Remind people that above all it’s supposed to be fun,” they said, adding, “That’s where the name Pantalones comes from and that’s why you won’t see us in Pantalones.”
Camila and Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey have been a couple since 2007 and married since 2012 and have three children: a son was born in 2008, a daughter in 2010 and another son in 2012.
