At the other end of the world I have found a place where everything is right: the sun is shining, the sea rolls in gentle waves onto the golden sandy beach, the fern fronds cast shadows on your face. In the relaxed town of Kuaotunu on New Zealand’s Coromandel Peninsula there is a corner shop, an ice cream parlor, a café with locally roasted organic coffee beans and “Luke’s Kitchen”. Luke’s kitchen combines what it takes to go home happy and full. The centerpiece is a wood-fired pizza oven. The smell of freshly baked pizza wafts straight into your nose from the street corner. There are also local green mussels and delicious salads here.
