A cult suit goes under the hammer: actor Uwe Fellensiek (67) played the disco operator and Ferrari driver Helmut in the film “Manta, Manta” (1991). Fans of the flick may well remember the lime green suit the character wore. Exactly this one is now being auctioned off – for a charitable purpose.

A clip can be found on YouTube in which Fellensiek – of course a genuine Ferrari and in the said suit – advertises his campaign. “This is the original suit from 1991’s ‘Manta, Manta’,” explains the 67-year-old. A scene from the film follows, in which Fellensiek can be seen in the clothes. “And it is with a heavy heart that I have decided to auction this suit.” 100 percent of the money goes to “It’s for Kids”. This is a foundation that supports aid projects for children throughout Germany. “I would be happy if a lot of money came together,” said the actor at the end of the video.

The suit has been available on Ebay since Monday (April 24). If you are interested: The campaign runs until May 3rd.

“Manta Manta – Second Part” with Til Schweiger (59) in the leading role is currently running in cinemas. Already in the third week the magic mark of one million cinema visitors was cracked. In addition to Schweiger, other actors from the original film are also back. Among others, Tina Ruland (56), Michael Kessler (55) and Martin Armknecht (61). But new actors like Moritz Bleibtreu (51), Luna Schweiger (26), Axel Stein (41) or Wotan Wilke Möhring (55) also play in the sequel. Fellensiek, on the other hand, is not to be seen.
