Zachery Ty Bryan (41) is free again. According to media reports, the “Listen who’s hammering” actor was released from prison after six days in detention. The former child star was being held at Lane County Jail in Oregon on charges of domestic violence, among other charges.
Zachery Ty Bryan will appear in court on September 5th. The actor is charged with fourth-degree assault, third-degree robbery and a misdemeanor offense of harassment. “The presumption of innocence is extremely important and people should refrain from making judgments until they know the actual facts,” his attorney said in a statement.
As the US portal “TMZ” reported for the first time, Zachery Ty Bryan was arrested by the police on July 28. Authorities in Eugene, Oregon received a call reporting an alleged physical altercation between a man and a woman.
Three years ago, Zachery Ty Bryan was in court for similar allegations. Among other things, he is said to have choked his fiancée Johnnie Faye Cartwright (30). Bryan pleaded guilty to two lesser counts of threats and assault. The incident in 2020 is said to have been exaggerated by the media.
“We didn’t even really get physical,” he said at the time. “We got really loud. We screamed, and because we were in a townhouse that had thin walls, everyone could hear it.”
It is not yet clear whether Johnnie Faye Cartwright is also the victim in the current case. In an interview with “US Today” she recently expressed herself cryptically. She wishes the father of her children only the best and asks for privacy. The couple have three children together.
Zachery Ty Bryan became a child star in 1991 with “Listen Who’s Hammering”. He played Brad in the sitcom, the eldest son of Tim Taylor, the home improvement king played by Tim Allen (70). After that, the great career failed to materialize. Bryan recently invested in the cryptocurrency Bitcoin. In 2023, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Bryan allegedly ran a fraudulent start-up program. He is said to have deprived investors of a total of $ 50,000 with fake contracts.
