TV star Jürgen Vogel (“Beyond the Spree”) likes classical music. Most recently, he attended a performance of works by the composer Gustav Mahler in the Philharmonie Berlin. “Now I would really like to experience a concert in the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie,” said the 55-year-old of the German Press Agency in the Hanseatic city.
Since the end of June, the actor has been shooting the six-part thriller series “Der Informant” in the spectacular Konzerthaus am Hafen, directed by Matthias Glasner (“Das Boot”). The NDR works together with the ARD-Degeto, Arte and the Norwegian broadcaster NRK.
“It really is a monumental building – and very beautiful, with good acoustics,” enthused the leading actor of the Elbphilharmonie. And explained to the dpa: “We also had scenes inside with an orchestra including a conductor and Beethoven sounds. That was really great and touched me.” The actor jokingly added that he now knows why the construction, completed in 2016 and long disputed over skyrocketing costs, was so expensive.
In the TV series “Der Informant”, which is set in the terror and drug milieu, Vogel acts alongside Elisa Schlott (“Ramstein – The Pierced Heart”) as an LKA officer who is supposed to thwart a suspected Islamist attack on the Elbphilharmonie. The episodes focus on the fear, prejudice and hysteria that arise when there is a suspicion.
The role model is the successful BBC series “Informer”. According to NDR information, the series should be shown in the ARD media library and in the first from autumn 2024.
