1999, 2019 and 2023: Actress Tanja Lanäus (52) appears naked for the third time on the cover of the German edition of the men’s magazine “Playboy”. She sees the current nude photos for the magazine as a statement against age discrimination against women, as she says: “It’s important to me that you can show when you feel comfortable – no matter how and no matter what age.” She did all three photo shoots for herself. “I love these pictures of me and my development as a woman.”
According to Lanäus, sentences like “40 is the new 30” are silly. “I was 30, I was 40, now I’m 52 and I feel great. Thanks to my environment, I’m also lucky not to have to give a specific picture of a 52-year-old. I can be whatever I want! Silly as a 20 -year-olds, but also confessed,” she says.
Lanäus has been seen as Yvonne Klee in the ARD series “Sturm der Liebe” since January 2022. She considers her role in the series to be “a real role model”. It shows “that even older female characters are sexy, great and tellable,” says the actress. She criticizes the film and television industry for the fact that “older women’s roles aren’t even written in the first place”. In addition, female characters “who should be 55 years old, for example,” are cast with actresses in their late 30s.
According to Lanäus, she finds it impossible that women with older faces are apparently no longer considered attractive. “That’s age discrimination against women. What kind of message is that supposed to be? The viewers look at themselves in the mirror and say: It’s crazy that she still looks like that, but I’m the same age! I find that distorting.”
