Steve Martin (77), Martin Short (73) and Selena Gomez (31) are back – the third season of the successful comedy series “Only Murders in the Building” starts on Disney on August 8th. Fans can also look forward to a lot of star power in the new episodes.

Mega stars like Sting (71), Amy Schumer (42) or Cara Delevingne (30) appeared in the first two seasons – season three goes one better. In addition to Marvel star Paul Rudd (54), who was already seen in the cliffhanger of season two, Oscar winner Meryl Streep (74) is also honored.

The three unlikely podcasters, former TV star Charles Haden Savage (Martin), ex-Broadway great Oliver Putnam (Short) and chick Mabel (Gomez) investigate another murder. This time, however, the murder doesn’t happen in their Arconia apartment complex, but in the middle of a theater stage. Ironically, Ben Glenroy (Rudd), the star of Oliver’s new Broadway play, collapses lifeless on stage at the Goosebury Theatre. With the help of co-star Loretta Durkin (Streep), the trio embark on their most difficult case yet, while director Oliver desperately tries to get his show back on its feet.

“Grey’s Anatomy” star Jesse Williams (42) joins the cast in the third season, as does “Emily in Paris” star Ashley Park (32). There is a reunion with Tina Fey (53), Andrea Martin (76) and Michael Cyril Creighton (44).

The first season of the humorous crime series penned by Steve Martin, Dan Fogelman (47, “This Is Us”) and John Hoffman premiered in 2021 and became a real surprise hit. The series has garnered an incredible 28 Emmy nominations to date.

For the 2023 awards, the series is entering the race with eleven nominations. Martin Short is waving the TV Oscar in the category “Best Actor in a Comedy Series”, Nathan Lane (67) could still win an award for his role as Teddy Dimas as “Best Guest Star in a Comedy Series” after 2022. “Only Murders in the Building” is also nominated for “Best Comedy Series”. With such prospects, a fourth season should not be long in coming.
