Vitali Klitschko (51) is not only a former world boxing champion and current mayor of the Ukrainian capital of Kiev, but also a devoted father. In an interview with “Bild am Sonntag”, Klitschko now said that he was glad that his three children Max (17), Elizabeth-Victoria (20) and Yegor-Daniel (22) did not go to war when the war broke out last February in his vicinity: “Luckily the children weren’t in the Ukraine.” During this phase of the Russian war of aggression against his homeland, however, they reported more frequently than usual: “It did me good that they were concerned, it gave me a lot of strength.”
However, who was always at his side around a year ago: his brother Wladimir Klitschko (46). That was very important to him. In the interview, Klitschko also describes dangerous moments when he was always at the front, which was only 15 kilometers from the center of his city: “There were constant explosions.” In addition, there were “terrorist groups” in Kiev who specifically hunted. However, he has not yet drawn up a will. “No, should I?” He explains when asked. He is sure that he will still have a lot of time for that.
In August 2022, Vitali Klitschko announced that he and his wife Natalia were divorcing after 26 years of marriage. In the “Bild” newspaper he said at the time: “We filed for divorce together because we have been living apart for years and want to do it officially now.” The statement continued: “We have a very good relationship with each other and respect each other, but we have been living separately in different cities for a long time.” Natalia moved her center of life to Hamburg. In 1996, the then sports professional and former model Natalia Egorowa got married.
