Vicky Leandros (70) will appear on the stage of the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie for a third time: the singer has announced an additional concert for March 24th. According to the concert organizer, their double concerts on March 25 were “completely sold out within a few days of the announcement” and the demand for more tickets was high.
“Reason enough for Vicky Leandros to pop the champagne corks again with another concert on March 24th at 8 p.m. and celebrate a huge party together with her fans,” says a statement. The two concerts on March 25 are scheduled for 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. The fact that the musician plays three concerts in the Elbphilharmonie in a row has not been achieved by any solo pop act before her.
Leandros, who is making a guest appearance in Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie for the third time, also expressed her joy at the newly announced show on Instagram: “I love life! I am all the more pleased that I can now do another, third concert [.. .] may play.” Tickets for the additional concert are already available at Eventim and at all known advance booking offices.
The performances are the starting signal for Leandros’ farewell tour “I love life”. After the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie, there will be another performance in the Cologne Philharmonie on October 9, 2023. The last performances are planned for spring 2024. According to the announcement, the program of the “I love life” tour has a mixture of chanson, pop, soul, hits, Greek folklore and rock songs to offer.
In November 2022, Vicky Leandros had stated that her tour in autumn 2023 should be the last and that she wanted to retire afterwards. “I think it’s time to stop,” said the singer. As a reason for this consideration, she gives: “I turned 70 in the summer. That’s when you start to think about the finitude of life. It has to be over at some point.”
