The eleventh season of “The Taste” starts on May 3, 2023 and has a new face on board with Nelson Müller (44). Together with Alexander Herrmann (51), Alexander Kumptner (39) and Tim Raue (49), the chef forms the permanent jury of the Sat.1 show. Hobby and professional chefs have to conjure up great pleasures on small spoons. For his new job, Nelson Müller received some tips from his predecessor Frank Rosin (56). He left the jury after ten seasons last year.
Already in the tenth season, Nelson Müller was a guest judge on “The Taste”. The fact that he is now succeeding Frank Rosin is a challenge for him, he reveals in an interview with the news agency spot on news. “After all, Frank Rosin is a veteran of the TV landscape and a mega entertainer.” But he got some tips from him: “He advised me to stay wide awake and be fit because the show is already a really big board.” Nelson Müller even speaks of “one of the toughest cooking shows”. It is difficult “to reduce an entire dish to one spoon and bring it with all its flavors and textures onto this mini spoon”.
By the way, he does not want a specific meal from the candidates. “I always find it difficult to talk about YOUR favorite dish.” For him, a meal becomes his favorite dish “when it touches and touches me emotionally”. He reveals: “And the candidates did that with some dishes.” It seems to have been quite turbulent during the shooting: “Four chefs all have a similar understanding of gastronomy, but they also have very different temperaments and tastes,” says Nelson Müller. “There can sometimes be discussions, but that’s also very good and constructive.”
In addition to the new jury member, there is another special feature in the eleventh season of “The Taste”: In seven episodes, previous candidates cook who could not win. For example, master butcher and cookery course leader Christa from the first season 2013 will be there. Head chef and almost star chef Egor from the second season and trainee cook Tobi from the tenth season now have a second chance to win 50,000 euros.
The new season will run from May 3, 2023 every Wednesday from 8:15 p.m. on Sat.1.
