In the sixth and final season of “The Crown”, Charles (74) is again portrayed by actor Dominic West (53), Olivia Williams (54) plays Camilla (75). The Netflix series should end with the wedding of the two. Last Friday (April 21) the actors were spotted as bride and groom on the set in Rochester. The very last scenes of the series are said to have been created during the shoot.
As the British “Daily Mail” reports, Williams wore an exact replica of Camilla’s outfit, which she wore to the civil wedding at the time. This includes a white midi dress, a cream coat with a silver brooch and a white hat. West was seen in a dark tailcoat with gray pinstripe pants and a silver waistcoat. The actors pulled up in their roles in the Rolls Royce, West helped his colleague out of the car and she linked his arm. Extras lined the main street to cheer for the pair.
The second wedding of the current monarch, then Prince Charles, was celebrated in Windsor on April 9, 2005. After the civil ceremony at the town hall there was a service in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. The shooting of the wedding of Charles and Queen Consort Camilla, then Camilla Parker Bowles, did not take place at the original location. With the wedding as the final point, the series creators should hope that the critics will also fall silent with this positive ending. They had repeatedly complained about the (too) realistic depictions in the fictional series about the Royal Family.
A start date for the final episodes of the series has not yet been set. The sixth season may appear on Netflix in late 2023.
