While he was away filming, burglars broke into the villa of “Take That” singer Gary Barlow (53). The incident took place at the beginning of April, as has now been revealed.
According to a report in the British newspaper “The Sun”, the burglars targeted the property while the British musician was visiting the TV show “Saturday Night Takeaway” with his band. They are said to have waited until it got dark before breaking down the front gate of the property on the main street of a village in the south of England. A police spokeswoman confirmed to the magazine: “We received reports of a break-in between 5.50pm on April 7th and 9am on April 8th. Officers are investigating the incident.” Investigators were said to have been seen at the scene taking photos of the listed mansion.
It is not yet known whether the burglars stole anything or whether Barlow’s wife and three children were in the house. There have reportedly been no arrests in the case.
The “Take That” star bought the country estate in 2007. After that, he wanted to make some changes. However, plans to build a second six-bed house in the garden were scrapped in 2019. Gary was told by community planners that the proposed property would not suit the area, The Sun reports. In 2020, he reached an agreement with conservationists to install a bat box and in return was allowed to build a garage for his cars.
