We’ve been waiting for this for a long time, but now it’s finally here: summer is just around the corner. As soon as the local temperatures crack the 20 degree mark, the streets fill with life again. And the gardening season is already in full swing. For children who have not been able to play outside for a long period of time, the most wonderful time of the year begins. So that they can enjoy their newfound freedom even more (and cool down a little on warm or hot days), water toys are currently more in demand than ever. We present ten different models to you.
With a diameter of 170 centimeters, this sprinkler and splash mat made of BPA-free PVC offers enough space for several children. So that the integrated holes throw the water at different heights into the air, all you have to do is connect the mat to a garden hose.
This water toy is suitable for children aged 18 months and over. It works like a waterfall: first you tip the water into the opening provided at the top, then it makes its way through various stations (which can be placed in different places).
Water is great to play with – for example on this TÜV-tested track. Children can bring the water to life with the integrated reservoirs, locks, a pump and additional play figures (three boats, a seaplane, a captain, a police officer, a man and a woman).
This water park made of high-quality Oxford fabric (without blower) is suitable for children between the ages of three and ten in the garden: it has a slide and a pool area including a bucket and water cannon. Great fun for young and old, but it also comes with a hefty price tag.
This toy works best in water: The Floating Pool Basketball Hoop comes as a set, consisting of a basket and a ball – all made of plastic, of course, and therefore waterproof. In summer, playing can be moved to the swimming pool (or to the beach).
What shouldn’t be missing, even on hot days, is a water pistol. It’s a toy and a cool-down in one – and can shoot up to ten meters. The water tank holds 1.8 liters and can be easily unscrewed and filled. Here you can get the model.
This water toy for children works like a lawn sprinkler that is connected to the garden hose. When switched on, the ladybug sprinkler rotates 360 degrees and sprays water around itself. Great fun for the whole family (including pets).
Playmobil also has a suitable water toy for children aged 1.5 and over: In addition to animals and toy figures, the water ride also contains various play functions, which are primarily intended to contribute to the little ones’ fine motor skills and cognitive perception – and are of course fun.
At the end of this round of introductions is a swimming animal that looks like a dragon (but is also available in other animal shapes). It is an air mattress with handles that are intended to offer children more support in the water. There is enough space on the area for two small dragon riders.
For small children aged two and over, this water toy in the shape of a rain cloud is ideal for the garden (or the bathtub): so that it fills with water, it has to be submerged – then the cloud starts to rain when you hold it with both hands compressed.
