The ZDF pre-evening series “Hotel Mondial”, which started in February, is getting a second season. Shooting should start in mid-May, as the agency in charge announced. The “Schweriner Volkszeitung” had previously reported. “Hotel Mondial” shows everyday stories in the hustle and bustle of an upscale hotel business.
The exterior shots for the first season were shot in Schwerin in the summer of 2022, the studio scenes in a closed carpet factory in Geesthacht (Schleswig-Holstein). The first season consisted of twelve episodes, at the center of which were hotel manager Eva de Vries (Gesine Cukrowski) and receptionist Lara (Joy Ewulu).
