When the stern met Jan Böhmermann for an interview about seven years ago, the conversation took place in a former carpet factory, located in an industrial area in the Cologne district of Ehrenfeld. On the facade was written “Carpet King. Laminate. Parquet”, and all rooms exuded backyard charm. Back then, Böhmermann had broken new ground on television with his show “Neo Magazin Royale”.
