New Zealand actor Sam Neill (75) was diagnosed with cancer last year. In his March 23 autobiography, Did I Ever Tell You This? (in English: “Have I ever told you that?”), Neill describes first noticing the disease during the press tour for last year’s hit movie “Jurassic World: A New Age.”

After the chemotherapy to treat his non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma initially failed, a “new chemotherapy medicine” helped, as Neill describes in an interview with the British “Guardian”.

In the meantime, Neill, known for films like “The Piano” (1992) or series like “Peaky Blinders” (2013-2014), is cancer-free, but has to take the new chemotherapy medicine mentioned regularly until the end of his life.

The 75-year-old started writing his autobiography during his treatment. “All of a sudden I had nothing to do and I’m used to working. I love my job,” he revealed. The letter calls Neill a “lifesaver”.
