Actress Sharon Battiste (“Köln 50667”) missed the quarterfinals in the RTL dance show “Let’s Dance”. The 31-year-old was unable to convince either the jury or the audience with her freestyle and was therefore eliminated.

The “Magic Moment” was about dancing a special moment in one’s own life story. Battiste, who lost her old curls due to patchy hair loss, chose how to deal with the disease as the theme of her dance. “I have to say that I’m proud of myself,” she said before her performance. However, the way there was “not the easiest”.

In the end, there were 24 points for the freestyle, in which Battiste and dance partner Christian Polanc (44) combined rumba, paso doble and jive – the lowest score of the first round. At the Paso Doble, the couple sometimes danced, as the jury criticized. Battiste was able to get additional points in the second round, where she competed in a bachata duel against model Anna Ermakova (23). The competition ended in a draw at a high level: the jury awarded both the maximum score of 30 points.

Ermakova also received full marks for her “Magic Moment”, which she dedicated to dancing. How the daughter of tennis legend Boris Becker and her dance partner Valentin Lusin (35) danced freely to “Behind Blue Eyes” by The Who caused tears in the eyes of the otherwise strict juror Joachim Llambi (58).

It also got emotional in the other special moments of the celebrities. For example, the ex-professional gymnast Philipp Boy (35) looked back on a fall on the bar that ended his career, and also had the original video of the accident recorded at the beginning of the dance. Mentalist Timon Krause (28) danced in a white outfit against black figures and thus processed his depression. But there were also happier tones: Twitch star Jens “Knossi” Knossalla (36) dedicated his “Magic Moment” to his mother, the Youtuber and actress Julia Beautx (23) presented a dance about the relationship with her eight-year-old sister.

How close together the performances of many celebrities are after weeks of training was shown above all in the three duels after the individual dances: Two ended with a tie on points, the street dance duel against Julia Beutx was able to Philipp Boy with a narrow point decide the difference for yourself.

In the upcoming show, too, the remaining couples each have to present two dances. After performances by the participants to melodies from film and television, there are trio dances, as Llambi announced. Each couple is supported by an additional professional. It is important to involve the third person in the dance as much as possible.
