Taylor Swift has – possibly – a new boyfriend. On Sunday, the musician attended a Kansas City Chiefs football game against the Chicago Bears and sat in one of the boxes next to the mother of Chiefs star Travis Kelce. Wearing the team’s colors, she cheered frantically when Kelce scored a touchdown and cheered him on from the stands. Kelce and Swift were then seen together in the arena’s hallways, according to a clip of the scene posted by sports journalist Jarrett Payton via X (formerly Twitter).
In the course of this emerging new romance, one of the footballer’s exes gave an interview to the British tabloid “Daily Mail” in which she commented on Travis Kelce’s understanding of loyalty and gave Taylor Swift a few pieces of advice: “I “I’m sure that she [Swift, editor’s note] has now mastered the ability to recognize who is really there for her – and who is just taking advantage of her.” She advises her to “be smart” because “if you cheat once, you’ll do it again.”
Benberry is likely referring to her experiences with Kelce, which led to the end of the couple’s relationship after they dated for a few months following a reality TV show together in 2016. In now-deleted tweets, she accused the athlete of having already started a new relationship, even though they had been together for a month at that point.
Last week, the football player likened the dating rumors surrounding him and Swift on a TV show to the children’s game Silent Post, but admitted he “passed the ball” to Swift after one of her concerts and invited her to one of his games.
