Hollywood star John Malkovich (69) has reached quite a few major milestones over the course of his career. At the age of almost 70, however, he has now developed a great desire that has nothing to do with a professional goal. Malkovich has recently become a grandfather and very much wishes to see his grandchild grow up for a few more years, as he revealed in an interview with “Bunte”.

In itself, the end of life obviously doesn’t worry him: “I wouldn’t say that I’m already afraid of death. It’s more of a longing to stay alive,” says Malkovich. “But death is more certain than life, it also happens more frequently.”

Thoughts and worries about death began for him when he himself became the father of his two children, says the actor. “Now we have a grandchild that I would like to see grow up for a few more years because it is so wonderful. It reminds you of the true beauty of life.”

Malkovich has been married to his wife Nicoletta Peyran (67) since 1989. The two have two children together – Loewy Malkovich (31) and Amandine Malkovich (33).
