For decades, Rebecca Siemoneit-Barum (45) found herself in all sorts of unusual storylines in the daily soap “Lindenstraße” – from 1990 to 2020 she played the character Iphigenie “Iffi” Zenker. Now real life is once again writing a beautiful story: At the age of 45, the actress will become a grandmother, as she revealed to “Bild”.
She is very happy about the addition to the family and the “whole family is completely over the moon,” says Siemoneit-Barum. “I can no longer look at babies without immediately thinking about what my grandchild will look like.” She became a grandmother thanks to her son Joshua Bauer, whom she had at the age of 20. A year later she became a mother again when her daughter Rachel was born.
The birth date of the child of son Joshua and her “future daughter-in-law” is given as spring 2024. The two have been together for around two years and “have known each other since school and were at the prom.” They can obviously rely on plenty of support from their proud grandma: The actress sincerely hopes to have a lot of time “that I can spend with Joshua, Luisa and the baby.”
In any case, stressful filming schedules for “Lindenstrasse” no longer stand in the way of this project. The final episode of the series was broadcast on March 29, 2020. For Rebecca Siemoneit-Barum, the cancellation of the cult format was “a big mistake,” as she revealed to the news agency spot on news at the time.
Her reason: “I am losing my long-time job and my income, a home and a place of refuge. The viewers are also losing long-time companions and a television program that has always tried to have a positive impact on society, reflecting the problems and concerns of our time and finding solutions to find.”
