Premiere of Homegrown Telugu Film Twisted Tales in Fremont
On November 18, 2024, the Cine Lounge Theater in Fremont was abuzz with excitement as the red carpet was rolled out for the premiere of Twisted Tales, a groundbreaking Telugu film produced right here in the Bay Area and Dallas, Texas. Stepping into the limelight was the talented cast and crew of Twisted Tales, a labor of love for the 60 individuals who poured their hearts and souls into bringing this cinematic gem to life.
A Passion Project Takes Flight
The story of Twisted Tales began during the pandemic when Uday Govindarajula, an immigrant tech worker from India, decided to pursue his lifelong dream of filmmaking and acting. Drawing on his connections in the industry, Uday gathered a group of like-minded individuals in the Bay Area who shared his passion for storytelling through film. What started as a small group of four to five people quickly blossomed into a full-fledged team of 120 and counting, all dedicated to creating captivating South Asian cinema right here in the US.
