Queen Máxima (51) and King Willem-Alexander (55) of the Netherlands have started their three-day trip through Greece. Queen Máxima appeared in a sophisticated outfit for the photo session in front of the Acropolis in Athens. She wore a long-sleeved, copper-colored dress with a tie belt and a white insert. At first glance, this looked like two different pieces of clothing. On closer inspection, however, it was noticeable that the fabrics were sewn together. To match the dress, the monarch chose a white hat with a lace veil, a white clutch and brown, pointed ballerinas.
The look was completed with pearl and diamond jewelry in the form of teardrop earrings and a brooch. Queen Máxima wore her blonde hair in voluminous waves. She kept her makeup simple with pink lipstick and dark eyeshadow. The nails were painted in a dark red.
King Willem-Alexander looked just as stylish. He wore a navy blue suit, white shirt, orange tie and black lace-up shoes.
Before visiting the Acropolis, Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou (66) received the royal couple in the Presidential Palace. In the evening, a state banquet will conclude the first day of the royal journey.
Further dates are planned for Tuesday in Athens. On Wednesday, the Dutch royals will end their three-day tour in Thessaloniki.
