Preparations for the coronation on May 6 are in full swing. There is a little bad news for the king’s wife Camilla (75): One of her honorary pages has allegedly broken his right arm and will be restricted to the ceremony. Nevertheless, grandson Gus Lopes (13) should help carry her heavy robe on the corridor through Westminster Abbey. This is reported by the “Daily Mail”.

Richard Eden of the British newspaper explains: “Gus broke his arm in a bicycle accident while on holiday.” The cast has since been removed, “but on the big day he has to wear his arm in a sling.” The boy with the arm sling appeared at the rehearsal at Buckingham Palace earlier this week, as the “Daily Mail” shows in photos.

Gus Lopes is the son of Camilla’s daughter Laura (45) and her husband Harry Lopes (45). He is among the boys who served as page of honor to the robes of Camilla and King Charles III. (74) are responsible. The royal robes are said to weigh up to seven kilograms and are elaborately embroidered. The royal family showed the first shots on their Instagram page.

Despite his accident, Gus is supposed to be the page of honor and help carry his grandmother’s robes with one hand. Altogether there are eight honorary pages, who are between 9 and 13 years old. For King Charles III. Prince George, Lord Oliver Cholmondeley, Nicholas Barclay and Ralph Tollemache are responsible. Camilla’s page of honor are her grandsons Freddy Parker Bowles, Gus and Louis Lopes, and her grandnephew Arthur Elliot.
