While walking to the Easter service, Princess Kate (41) appeared in Windsor in Catherine Walker’s blue coat – and with dark red painted fingernails. The latter is now causing discussions: According to British media reports, the wife of heir to the throne Prince William (40) has so far chosen neutral or clear colors for her nails for public appearances. This is said to have corresponded to the rules laid down by Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022), who died in September.
According to royal experts, bright red or pink were not welcomed by the Queen. Kate’s red painted fingernails quickly caused a stir on social media. The comments ranged from “wonderful” to “surprising” to “shocking”. Another user pointed out that Prince Harry’s (38) wife Duchess Meghan (41) was once criticized for showing up at an official appearance with dark painted nails.
As the “Mirror” reports, among other things, there are no official rules as to what type of nail polish the royals are allowed to wear. Princess Kate has therefore apparently not violated royal protocol.
