On Sunday evening, “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” moderator Günther Jauch had to improvise himself when the wrong answers were displayed for a question. “That can’t be true,” said Jauch. “Guys, can you have your Kölsch keg…”, he joked in the direction of the director. Luca Demirel sat on the council chair during the breakdown, who spoke to Jauch about his speed camera experiences. He had already been flashed 50 times, Jauch admitted, and quickly rowed to 35 times after hearing astonished shouts of protest from the audience.
For Luca Demirel, the breakdown program did not end with a lot of money because time had run out. The 25-year-old had to play again on Monday evening. He had earned 32,000 euros at the time – and had problems with the 64,000 euro question.
“Which clubs have fielded at least one player in every men’s World Cup final since 1982? A) Inter Milan and Bayern Munich, B) Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, C) Real Madrid and Arsenal FC or D) Arsenal FC and Inter Milan ?” Jauch wanted to know from his candidate. Demirel got help with the 50:50 joker and then had to choose between A and C. But he still wasn’t quite sure, so Jauch advised him to consult another joker. “That doesn’t help. I have to help myself,” said Demirel determinedly.
“2006 France – Italy. That was without Bayern being involved. The Italian team kicked us out. Nobody played for Bayern. And they won. No Bayern player played for the Italian team, I would know that . I hope I don’t make a stupid mistake now. That’s why I’m gambling now. I say C,” he said. The wrong answer. “Willy Sagnol. The Frenchman played for Bayern. It would have been Inter Milan and FC Bayern,” said Jauch. Demirel was annoyed. Not only because he didn’t know the right answer, but because he fell back to 500 euros with a joker in his luggage.
The young candidate was not alone in this. Tobias Kawerau also gambled away. But first, he admitted he’s had a taste of who wants to be a millionaire? “It’s my sixth time overall. It’s my second time that I’ve been in the selection round here. But I’ve been in the audience four times and I’ve also been an additional joker,” he revealed.
But his experience could only help Kawerau up to the 16,000 euro question. “Which adjectives can be found in the dictionary? A) naive
Just like Demirel, Kawerau decided to gamble and chose answer B – wrong, it would have been C. “No! Now I’m going home with four jokers,” he said desperately. As an Easter bonus, Günther Jauch was available to the candidates himself as a joker. Kawerau said at the beginning that he wanted to use the moderator for the 32,000 euro question. But it didn’t come to that. “I could then do a personal consultation on what to do with the 500 euros,” he said jokingly.
