Mr. Schamoni, do you still style your hair with beer? Am I still a punk? Of course not. Punk rock is a thing for young people. I’m still interested in subculture, but I’m no longer addicted to it. I don’t hang out in bars every night anymore. There are just different phases of life. “Every seven years turn your gaze, even a tear remains a long way away,” sang the band “Der Plan”. If the Toten Hosen claim to still be punk rockers, I think that’s okay. But I can’t say the same for myself, I always have to reinvent myself.
