John Stamos (60) used to drink so much that, among other things, he forgot about filming “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2”. Apparently the actor couldn’t remember being on the set of the comedy, which was released in 2016.

Stamos, who has since sworn off alcohol, spoke about his past problem with alcohol during an appearance on The Howard Stern Show. The “Full House” star was arrested in 2015 for driving under the influence. He admitted that the alcohol also affected his memory at the time. After the encounter with the police, he had to return to the set to finish filming the 2016 comedy.

He said he had just been out with Rita Wilson, 65, and Nia Vardalos, 61, and he realized he had forgotten that the day after the arrest they said, “Oh, you have to go to Toronto, you are in ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2,'” Stamos recalled in the interview. “I was like, What? I don’t remember being on that set.”

By the time Stamos finished filming the film, close friends and family were waiting for him at home to make sure he got the help he needed. His sisters and his agents said, “Okay! It’s time,” Stamos said. “It wasn’t even an intervention, it was more like, ‘We’ve packed your bags, you’re leaving’.”

Stamos went on to say that he wasn’t mad about it. He then had treatment in a clinic for 30 days. “That’s it. I haven’t had a drink in eight years.”

The actor, who just published his autobiography “If You Would Have Told Me,” played the role of Jesse in the sitcom “Full House” from 1987 to 1995. The series made him internationally known. From 2015 to 2019, a sequel, “Fuller House,” was produced on behalf of Netflix, in which Stamos also appeared.

Stamos has also found happiness in his private life: The 60-year-old is the father of a five-year-old son named Billy, whom he shares with his wife Caitlin McHugh (37). The couple has been married since 2018.
