Billie Eilish (21) has Barbie fever: the “Happier Than Ever” singer and her brother Finneas are contributing a song to the soundtrack of the new “Barbie” film. Her song “What Was I Made For?” will be released on July 13, Eilish said on Instagram. “We made this song for Barbie and it absolutely means the world to me,” enthused the singer, gushed about the film.
The Barbie the Album soundtrack features a variety of artists including Lizzo, Dua Lipa, Nicki Minaj, Ice Spice, Khalid and Haim. Lead actor Ryan Gosling also appears as a singer with the song “I’m Just Ken”. The album is scheduled to be released on July 21 to coincide with the US theatrical release.
In the film by US director Greta Gerwig (“Lady Bird”) Margot Robbie and Gosling can be seen as Barbie and Ken. The long-legged dolls are transported from their perfect, pink Barbieland into the “real world”. Will Ferrell, America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon and Dua Lipa also star.
