Supermodel Claudia Schiffer has almost settled too much in her adopted home of Great Britain. “I love English chocolate, marmite and chips,” the 52-year-old told the British newspaper Telegraph. Marmite is a popular spread.
“I’ve even picked up a kind of English humor that has gotten me into trouble with my German friends who don’t understand British sarcasm.” Originally from North Rhine-Westphalia, Schiffer has lived in England with her husband, the British film producer Matthew Vaughn, for many years.
The couple keeps their three children Caspar (19), Clementine (17) and Cosima (12) out of the public eye. Whether they want to work as models themselves, like the daughters of Cindy Crawford or Kate Moss, is up to them. “We would always encourage our children to follow their dreams,” Schiffer said. “We have deliberately tried to give them as normal a childhood as possible. Having me as a mother is a double-edged sword – they can learn from my experiences, but they will be scrutinized more closely.”
