From February 17th, not only the celebrities, but also the 14 professional dancers will be floating on “Let’s Dance” (on RTL and RTL ). From this year Mariia Maksina (25) is part of the party. But who is the newcomer to the team of professionals?

Maksina was born in Russia in 1997. She has been an avid dancer since she was young. At the age of twelve she decided to come to Germany for her career and in 2011 she became German Junior Champion in Standard and Ten Dance. In 2017 she won the World Amateur Dance Federation World Champion title in Discofox. The new member of the group has given up her job in care for the dance show.

For the 25-year-old, who lives in Cologne, her appearance in the introductory episode will not be the first on the dance show. She was already seen in the final freestyles alongside Gil Ofarim (40), Ingolf Lück (64) and Pascal Hens (42). She was disguised as a donkey or hippopotamus.

Not only does she know the dance floor well, but also her colleague Ekaterina Leonova (35). The new professional has a very special connection with Leonova: the two dancers are cousins. They even lived together in Cologne.

In addition to the debutante, there are also some fan favorites among the professionals who have long since become stars themselves. The spectators can look forward to Massimo Sinató (42), Ekaterina Leonova (35) and Isabel Edvardsson (40). But also Christina Luft (32), Kathrin Menzinger (34), Patricija Ionel (28), Alexandru Ionel (28), Andrzej Cibis (35), Christian Polanc (44), Vadim Garbuzov (35), Valentin Lusin (35) and Zsolt Sándor Cseke (35) are there again. Renata Lusin (35), on the other hand, is out. Born in Russia and her husband Valentin are expecting their first child together. Malika Dzumaev (31) is available as a replacement.
