Model Bella Hadid has released a health update. On Instagram on Sunday she described her long-term health problems and posted several pictures of her treatments. Now she is “finally healthy”.

“I tried to choose the most positive images I could because as painful as this experience was, the result was the most enlightening experience of my life, filled with new friends, new visions and a new brain,” she shares on her Instagram page . The model can be seen in several photos during the treatments – for example with infusions in the arms and legs and on a transfusion chair.

She is now “finally healthy” after more than a decade of intense health problems. She endured “nearly 15 years of unseen suffering,” including “over 100 days of Lyme disease, chronic illness, co-infection treatments.” Lyme disease is a disease transmitted through tick bites. It was all worth it because she is doing better now. “The little me that suffered would be so proud of the grown me for not giving up on myself.”

She also showed an illness report from 2013 when she was 17 years old. She thanked her mother Yolanda Hadid, who was also diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2012. “I’m grateful to my mom for keeping all my medical records, standing by me, never leaving my side, protecting me, supporting me, but most of all for believing me through it all.”

She continued, “Living in this condition, which worsens with time and work while trying to make myself, my family and the people who support me proud, has taken a toll on me in ways that I can’t really explain.” “It was very confusing to be so sad and sick and to have so many blessings/privileges/opportunities/love around me.”

She is fine now and there is no need to worry. Despite the hardships, she doesn’t want to change anything about her story: “It made me who I am today.” She thanked her doctors, her nursing team, her agents and the companies she works for. When she can model again, she left it open. But she announced: “I’ll be back when I’m ready.” In another post, she dedicated herself to her dog. “And God bless my angel, Glizzy P. Beans aka Petunia aka Beans, who won’t leave my side for a second.”

Sister Gigi Hadid commented on the health hopeful update by saying, “I love you and I’m so proud and happy for you.”

In July, the model announced that she was taking time off due to a renewed flare-up of Lyme disease. She has been in daily treatment for four months. Shortly thereafter, it was announced that her relationship with art director Marc Kalman broke up after almost two years. “They were very much in love but the relationship eventually ended and they decided to call it quits,” a source told Entertainment Tonight at the time. “Bella is a very nice person but struggles with the pressures of fame. Ever since their breakup, she’s been trying to take care of herself.”

Bella Hadid announced earlier this year that she wants to live sober after drinking too much alcohol. She previously opened up about how she “suffered from extreme depression and anxiety” for most of her teenage and adult life.
