Mourning for Katja Dofel: The longtime stock market journalist is dead. “Last Thursday, our longtime colleague Katja Dofel died in Frankfurt after a serious illness at the age of 52,” reports her longtime employer, the television news channel ntv.

“Katja was a passionate stock market reporter and reported for us from April 2000 until the end of 2022 from the ntv stock exchange studio in Frankfurt. Before that, she had worked for several years directly on the New York floor as a correspondent, including for ntv,” the broadcaster continues .

“Your dedication and tireless commitment to the topic of business and the stock market not only impressed your colleagues, but also the viewers,” it continues. “We mourn the loss of a tireless journalist and friend. Our thoughts are with her family.”

Her family also spoke up: “Remember her as you knew her,” says Linkedin. “Full of life and colourful, always ‘bullish’ for the future and committed to the stock market and finance.” Dofel died as a result of a serious illness in the presence of her parents.

Katja Dofel was born in Munich. She studied politics and economics with a master’s degree in Munich and Edinburgh/Scotland. In addition to her work as a TV presenter, Dofel worked as a freelance trainer, presenter and speaker. In September 2017, she accepted a teaching position at the Nürtingen University of Economics and Environment, teaching business students stock management and stock analysis. Since that year she had been working for a Cologne investment consultancy and had reoriented her career.
