Model, presenter and entrepreneur Lena Gercke (35) spoke about her family life in an interview with the “Gala” magazine. Gercke and director Dustin Schöne (37) have been a couple since 2019. In the summer of 2020, their daughter Zoe was born, who had a little sister with Lia in December 2022.

Her existence as a double mom changed “everything”, says Gercke. At the moment she is doing more home office and silent daughter Lia during video meetings with the camera switched off. Otherwise, she alternates with her partner Dustin Schöne and the two would also try to “give each other free space. If someone says: ‘Hey, watch out, I have a super long meeting today, I can’t postpone it’ – then the other tries to step in.” Fortunately, the couple can also rely on good support consisting of a nanny and grandmas and grandpas.

Nevertheless, becoming parents is a stress test for the relationship. “You reach your personal limits. […] Either you make a good team – or the relationship fails. I’m very happy that we’ve become a damn good team.” The most important thing is not to put everything on the gold scales and communication is the be-all and end-all here.

The birth of daughter Lia was not only a change for the couple. Daughter Zoe first had to “grow into” the role of the big sister, as Gercke explains. “It was difficult for her at first, and that means it was difficult for us as parents too. It took a lot of time and a lot of patience and love.” Now the two sisters are getting closer and closer, “and the love grows every day”.

Her partner loves being surrounded by three women, the 35-year-old continues. “He loves us all. He always says we’re his ‘girls’.” Gercke does not rule out the possibility that a son will one day be added to the family. “Maybe we’ll get one at some point. I leave everything open. I generally like to let things come to me.” The couple have not yet thought about getting married. “We lead a modern relationship completely at eye level.”
