Former “Twilight” star Kristen Stewart (32) received her first Oscar nomination this year for her portrayal of Princess Diana (1961-1997) in the drama film “Spencer”. Now Stewart is about to take the next important step in his career. As “Deadline” reports, the American actress will take her place in the director’s chair for the first time in a full-length feature film. Stewart dares to adapt the bestseller “The Chronology of Water” by author Lidia Yuknavitch (59). Imogen Poots (“Outer Range”, 33) will play the leading role in the biographical drama.

In her memoir The Chronology of Water, Lidia Yuknavitch recounts her difficult childhood and adolescence with an alcoholic mother and an abusive father. Her passion for swimming earned Yuknavitch a college scholarship. She was about to compete in the Olympic Games as a swimmer. But then Yuknavitch – like her mother – became addicted to alcohol and drugs.

Describing her book as a “radical celebration of physical experience,” director Stewart is confident that leading lady Poots will “carry the film and the gargantuan weight of Lidia [Yuknavitch’s] life.” Stewart is co-adapting Yuknavitch’s memoir with Andy Mingo. Director veteran Ridley Scott (84) is one of the producers of the work. No other actors are known at this time.
