Gene Simmons (73) suffered a dizzy spell at a performance by his band KISS in Manaus, Brazil. As eyewitnesses reported, the bassist of the US rock band had to leave the stage on Thursday (April 13). After a short break, Simmons returned. He played the rest of the concert sitting down. The Brazilian news portal published a video on Twitter showing the sitting rock star.
According to videos of concertgoers circulating on social media, singer and guitarist Paul Stanley (71) interrupted the performance. “Wait, wait,” he is said to have shouted. “We have to stop”.
“We know how much you love Gene and he’s obviously sick,” continued Stanley. “We have to stop caring about him because we love him, right?”
After a five-minute break, Gene Simmons returned to the stage and continued rocking in a chair. What exactly the man with the most famous tongue in the rock world suffered from is not known.
Gene Simmons is currently on a farewell tour with KISS. The End of the Road World Tour has been running since January 2019. Many guest performances had to be canceled due to the corona pandemic. The final tour ends on December 2nd and 3rd with a double whammy in New York City. This is where Simmons and Stanley founded the band exactly 50 years ago.
