In Germany – including previews from last Wednesday – more than 465,000 cinemagoers have already purchased a ticket to experience Reeves in the explosive action production, as reported by Leonine Studios. Compared to the predecessor “John Wick: Chapter 3”, which was released in 2019, an increase of around 45 percent – and number one in the cinema charts. In terms of sales and number of visitors, it is the best theatrical release so far this year.
The latest film by director Chad Stahelski (54) is also extremely successful in North America, as reported by the industry magazine “Variety”. On its opening weekend, the blockbuster eclipsed its competition with $73.5 million in revenue.
At the same time, it is the best start of the series so far, and the number of entries has gradually increased over the past few years.
