Constantin Schreiber (43) presented the main edition of the “Tagesschau” on Sunday evening (October 16) at 8 p.m. on the first. Satirist Jan Böhmermann (41) followed the news program and could not resist commenting. “I’m 72 percent sure that Constantin Schreiber is a robot,” he tweeted after the show.

Böhmermann’s theory met with a lot of approval on the short message service – more than 3,000 users like the post. But Schreiber (43) did not let the comment sit. He reacted to Böhmermann’s tweet with a photo of himself in a flash. It shows the presenter holding a piece of paper with the words “I’m real!” written on it. (in German: “I’m real!”).

Böhmermann then asked himself: “Isn’t that exactly what a robot would do?” In order to further convince the satirist of his humanity, Schreiber brought in reinforcements from the “Tagesschau” editorial team. For a second photo as evidence, he had himself photographed with two colleagues. In their hands they held signs with the inscription “He’s really real” (in German: “He’s really real”) and a verification symbol. Böhmermann retweeted the post, but no longer commented on it.

Constantin Schreiber has been moderating the main edition of the “Tagesschau” since January 2021. He has been with ARD since 2017. Before that he worked for the news channel n-tv, where the Middle East expert presented the German-Arabic series “Marhaba – Arriving in Germany”. For this he was awarded the Grimme Prize.
