In the fifth episode of the Pro7 casting show “Germany’s Next Top Model” everything revolved around the perfect walk. Felice (20) from Berlin, Marcia (23) from Switzerland and Lilian (24) from Hanover were stuck on Thursday evening after the second fashion show of this year’s season on the Spanish island of Tenerife.
In order to walk as “tough” as possible on the catwalk, the internationally successful Spanish male model and guest juror, Jon Kortajarena, trained with the male candidates. The candidates were coached by Heidi Klum. Some appeared natural and professional like Sara (28). Others like 20-year-old Fabienne had a difficult time. She was excited. Heidi Klum tried to take away her nervousness, but Fabienne couldn’t get the correct posture even when the two of them walked together.
Emotional moments
On Thursday evening it also got emotional on “GNTM”: 24-year-old Grace, who had to flee Syria with her family, described her dramatic escape across the sea. “For me it feels like I wasn’t able to enjoy my youth. I had to take care of my family, I couldn’t be a child. That makes me sad,” said Grace, describing her life in Germany.
Due to the bad weather in Tenerife, this year’s show had to be moved indoors. Designer Marina Hoermanseder wasn’t just excited about the young models she dressed for the show. The twins Luka and Julian (24) were particularly amused by their friend Armin’s outfit, who was dressed from head to toe in a colorful teddy bear look. Hoermanseder said: “That’s not funny, that’s my fashion!” The two brothers tried their best to convince the Austrian designer that they hadn’t laughed at her design. In the end, the slightly offended Marina Hoermanseder said that such behavior wouldn’t go down well on a catwalk job.
At the end of the episode, the young models had to show their walk and impress the jury around Kortajarena, Hoermanseder and Heidi Klum so that they could move on to the next round. Fabienne was particularly convincing. Felice (20) was unlucky because she wore shoes that were too big. She stumbled on the catwalk and hit a lamp.
