Thanks to another goal festival, Jürgen Klopp confidently reached the quarter-finals of the European Football League with Liverpool FC. In the second leg of the round of 16 against Sparta Prague, the English Premier League club won 6-1 (4-1) at Anfield Road after the Reds had already won the first leg 5-1.

After just 14 minutes it was 4-0 for Liverpool. Darwin Nunez (7th minute), Bobby Clark (8th), Mohamed Salah (10th) and Cody Gakpo (14th) scored at will for the hosts. Egypt’s superstar Salah broke a 37-year-old record: The striker is the first Liverpool player to score at least 20 goals in seven seasons in a row. The previous record was held by attacker Ian Rush, who scored at least 20 goals in six consecutive seasons between 1982 and 1987.

After the break, former Leipzig player Dominik Szoboszlai (48′) and Gapko again (55′) scored for Klopp’s team. Prague’s consolation goal was scored by Veljko Birmancevic (42′).
