It has now been a year since Nick Carter’s (43) younger brother Aaron Carter (1987-2022) tragically passed away. In a new interview with “E! News”, the Backstreet Boys member gave insight into his emotional life and the grief of the Carter family.

Aaron Carter, who caused a stir with numerous drug escapades in the years before his accidental death, was found drowned in the bathtub of his home in Lancaster, California on November 5, 2022. After the official police investigation concluded, his death was ruled an accident. Carter drowned due to the effects of ingested sedatives and inhaled gas.

“It’s still unbelievable to me,” says Nick Carter, looking back on the events at the time. The 43-year-old is “still” processing “the whole situation.” He is also still trying to understand what happened back then, because he has not yet succeeded in doing so. Through tears, the Backstreet Boys singer continued, “I hope one day I can understand everything, though.”

Nick Carter’s wife Lauren Kitt Carter (40) and children Odin (7), Saoirse (4) and Pearl (2) would be at his side in his grief. “My children are my everything,” Carter said. “All that external stuff” like his performances as a singer would mean nothing to him in comparison.
