Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (50) is not just a real Hollywood heavyweight. There were also considerations as to whether he might even want to become President of the United States. Currently, however, Johnson has other priorities, as he says in an interview with Tracy Smith for the US television show “CBS Sunday Morning” that will be shown on October 9th.

The whole thing is “off the table,” he explains in a short preview clip. And Johnson also explains why: “I love our country and everyone in it. I also love being a dad.” His role as a father is his top priority – especially at such an important time in his children’s lives. Together with his wife Lauren Hashian (38), to whom he has been married since 2019, he has two daughters, Tiana (4) and Jasmine (6). Above all, he wanted to “be a dad”.

However, this was obviously not always the case. His adult daughter Simone (21) comes from a previous marriage between Johnson and Dany Garcia (53). In the new interview, the actor also admits that he was so busy at Simone’s that he was often absent during this important time.

In recent years, Johnson had repeatedly spoken about possibly running for election. At the end of 2017, in a conversation with moderator Ellen DeGeneres (64), he said that he was “seriously” thinking about it. In an interview with USA Today in 2021, he also considered a future candidacy “if people wanted to. Really, I mean that and I’m in no way light-hearted with my answer.” So maybe he’ll still compete when Tiana and Jasmine are older.
