Charlene of Monaco (45) and Prince Albert II (65) appeared together in Florence on Wednesday (April 12). The royal couple walked arm in arm in the Italian city. The two were photographed leaving the Palazzo Gondi. The former Olympic swimmer once again demonstrated her flair for fashion.
Charlene of Monaco wore a cream blouse and matching trousers. Sparkling diamond earrings added a little glamor to the outfit, while subtle make-up and nude-colored shoes rounded off the look. Her husband chose a dark blue suit, white and blue polka dot tie and white shirt instead. The two visited the Andrea Bocelli Foundation, set up by the famous singer in July 2011 to support people caught in poverty and hardship due to illness and social exclusion. Charlène and Prince Albert traveled to Italy to mark the 160th anniversary of the founding of the consulate of the Principality of Monaco.
In recent weeks, the couple has regularly appeared together at events. Among other things, at the memorial service for Prince Albert’s deceased father, Prince Rainier III. (1923-2005). In recent years there have been repeated rumors of a possible marriage crisis. “My family is my rock,” Charlène told the Monaco Matin newspaper at the end of 2022.
Princess Charlène and Prince Albert II were married on July 1, 2011, and the church wedding followed the day after. Twins Gabriella and Jacques were born in December 2014. In spring 2021, Charlène fell ill during a trip to her native South Africa and was unable to return to Monaco for months. According to media reports, she had a serious ear, nose and throat infection, which allegedly even required one or more operations. The head of the Grimaldi family told People magazine in December 2022 that he was “really proud” of his wife, who had a “difficult year” behind her.
