The Ludwigshafen Film Festival presented this year’s awards at a gala on the Parkinsel in the Rhine. The organizers in the second largest city in Rhineland-Palatinate announced that the film art prize will be awarded in three categories.

Honored were “Sonne and Concrete” by David Wnendt (film) and Lars Krause for “The Uncertainty Principle of Love” (director) as well as Alice Gruia for “Be just as you are” (screenplay). The audience award went to “We have a deal” by Felicitas Korn.

The actresses Martina Gedeck and Nastassja Kinski were honored at the 19th German Film Festival for their roles in “The Silent Satellites”. All prices are undoped.

After 19 days, the festival ends on Sunday. The organizers draw a positive conclusion. About 112,000 tickets were sold in total, said director Michael Koetz. This means that the festival is building on the numbers from before the pandemic and remains the German film festival with the highest number of spectators after the Berlinale. The event on the border with Baden-Württemberg is considered an important industry meeting.
